Ninja Foodi Boiled Eggs Ingredients

Preparing hard boiled eggs in the Ninja Foodi couldn’t be easier and requires minimal ingredients. We’re using the term boiled loosely here since you aren’t boiling the eggs in water at all! The Ninja Foodi air fryer and Ninja Foodi grill recipes require no water.

  • Chicken Eggs: You can make as many or as few as you want! We used large chicken eggs, if you use a smaller size egg, a larger XL egg, or a duck egg, it could change the cooking time slightly.
  • Water: Only needed if you’re cooking Ninja Foodi eggs in a pressure cooker.

Equipment

What equipment you use depends on how you’re cooking for eggs, this is what we’ve tested and recommend:

  • Ninja Foodi Pressure Cooker with air crisp lid
  • Ninja Foodi Air Fryer XL
  • Ninja Foodi Grill (+air fryer combo)

How to Make Hard Boiled Eggs in Ninja Foodi

The most popular way to cook hard boiled eggs in a Ninja Foodi is their pressure cooker. It’s super easy and all you need is the eggs and water.

  1. Insert the trivet into the bottom of the Ninja Foodi and add 1 cup of water to the bottom of the pot.
  2. Pressure cook 6-12 large eggs for 5 minutes and then do a natural release for 5 minutes.
  3. Release the remaining pressure in the pot and immediately put the cooked eggs into a large bowl with ice water for 5 minutes to stop the eggs from cooking.

Air Fryer Method

If you have a Ninja Foodi air fryer, whether you’re using a stand alone air fryer unit or the air crisp lid, this is how you make air fryer eggs with no water.

Step 1: Spray the cooking surface of your Ninja Foodi air fryer with cooking spray.

Step 2: Place the eggs in the Ninja Foodi.

Step 3: Set the Ninja Foodi air fryer to 300 degrees and cook the eggs for 15 minutes.

Step 4: Allow the eggs to cool before peeling.

Recipe Tips for Eggs in the Ninja Foodi

  • Cooking time: Smaller eggs may require less cooking time, while larger eggs may need more.
  • Cooling: Let the eggs cool for a few minutes after cooking, it makes peeling easier.
  • Storage: Hard boiled eggs can be kept in the refrigerator for up to a week.

Storing and Reheating

Hard boiled eggs can last in the fridge for up to one week. Unfortunately, they don’t hold up well when frozen. If you need to reheat them, a short stint in the microwave will do the trick, but be sure to cut the egg in half first to avoid any egg-splosions.

How do you reheat Ninja Foodi hard boiled eggs? Cut the egg in half and microwave for 15-20 seconds.

How to Use Ninja Foodi Boiled Eggs

Leftover Ninja Foodi boiled eggs can be used in:

  • Egg salad on a bed of lettuce
  • Deviled eggs
  • Slice the boiled eggs and add them to salads
  • Make egg sandwiches
  • BLT’s with sliced eggs added

Common Questions

Do I need water to cook eggs in Ninja Foodi?

If you’re cooking eggs in a Ninja Foodi pressure cooker, then yes, you do need to at least add 1 cup of water. Without the water, the pressure cooker can’t come to pressure and cook the eggs.

If you’re using either a Ninja Foodi air fryer or grill, you do not need to add water to cook the eggs.

What is the 5-5-5 method for cooking eggs?

The 5-5-5 method refers to cooking eggs in a pressure cooker for 5 minutes, letting the pressure release naturally for 5 minutes, and then placing the eggs in ice water for 5 minutes. This method is known for producing perfectly cooked hard boiled eggs.

If you ever pressure cook 555 eggs and you get a gray ring around the egg yolk, you can also try the 6-1-5 method too! Pressure cook for 6 minutes, do a natural release for 1 minute, and then put the eggs in a water bath for 5+ minutes until they’re cool.
